Bradley County is fortunate to have a great Parks and Recreation Department with nice facilities and a variety of program offerings. The department organizes baseball, softball, basketball and football programs each year and participation continues to grow.

The Cleveland/ Bradley Youth Football League recently completed their season. The league continues to experience growth in the number of participants with four new teams formed this year. Over three hundred and fifty youth participated on twenty six teams this year. The following are the league champions and their coaches.

The 7/8 year old champions for this year were the Gamecocks with Coach Ramey Thompson. The 9/10 year old champion was the Ravens with Coach Tony Spencer and the 11/12 year old champions were the Falcons with Coach Kevin Kelly.

The Bradley County Recreation Department is extremely grateful for the support of the local schools. The league uses every football stadium in Cleveland and Bradley County during the season.

The Recreation Department recently kicked off youth basketball. This season there are sixty four teams with over twenty five cheerleading squads. The basketball season will continue through February 14th. The program provides recreation opportunities for over 1000 kids.
The successful programs of the Parks and Recreation Department would not be possible without the volunteers. There are over 500 individuals that volunteer in some aspect of the baseball, softball, football and basketball programs. These volunteers have been instrumental in park improvements and program operation.
During the winter the maintenance division will be making improvements to the softball complex at the County Park. Renovation of the concession is the main priority along with improvements to the restroom facility.

Construction will begin this spring on a multi-use recreation complex on Minnis Road. This work is funded by a grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and the Bradley County/ Healthy Community Initiative Grant Program. The first phase of construction will include an entrance road, parking lot and softball complex.
The Bradley County Parks & Recreation Department presently provides six parks, two football stadiums, the BMX Track, and the McDonald Gym. The Department is also responsible for the administration of the Bradley County Youth Basketball League, Bradley/Cleveland Youth Football League, and the Bradley County 13/14 year old baseball league.
For more information on any of the programs offered by the department, please call Director Paul Wyrick at 728-7035 or visit their website at the Parks and Recreation page at
