The Chancellor presides over the State Courts of Equity, handling cases involving land disputes, estates, trust and zoning problems. The Chancery Courts have concurrent jurisdiction with Circuit Court in suits for breach of contract, adoptions, divorce and labor management. The Chancellor is assisted by a Clerk and Master. This office is elected to an eight year term.
