Future directions in GIS

Bradley County is currently in partnership with the State of Tennessee in their State Base Mapping Program. Much needed new photography is in the process and will allow us to update our existing features. Many of our current features such as building footprints, driveways, road pavements, and wooded areas, have not been updated since our 1993 orthophotography. Another need is to develop special GIS applications for the different departments with user-friendly interfaces. This would help very much with training that is sometimes difficult for many GIS users. At last what everybody wants, the Internet. We are working towards the implementation of GIS on the Internet and realize that it should be a reality in the near future.
