The Board of Equalization Meetings for 2010
The Bradley County Board of Equalization will have it's Organizational Meeting on June 1. Usually, no hearings are held at this first meeting. The board uses the first meeting to set officers, review general information and set the hearing dates for scheduling of appeals. Those wishing to come before the Local Board of Equalization will have 45 days to schedule an appointment. The final day to submit an appeal to the Local Board will be July 16, 2010.
After the Hearing Dates have been scheduled anyone who wishes to appeal a valuation can call the Assessor's office at 423-728-7126 to set an appointment time. If you have called in before the organizational meeting, your name will be put on a list and you will be contacted to set up the appointment time.
Bring with you any materials you feel proves your case for a change in valuation. This includes any documents, sales data, appraisals or other data that shows proof of your contention. Photos of damage or abnormal conditions are helpful. Tax Representatives must also bring a Letter of Authorization.
Appeals to the Board have been completed for the Tax Year of 2010.
Any new appeals would have to be accepted by the State Board of Equalizaton.
