This is a wonderful time of
the year as we remember the reason for the season. The Christmas season gives us an opportunity
to reflect on our many, many blessings.
Even for someone who is always serious like me, it is a time to pause
and to appreciate all there is to be thankful for in
Personally, I have a
wonderful family: a loving wife, four children, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law
and four grandchildren. My ninety-two
year old mom is doing well and still living at home. Last, but not least, I have the most
fantastic job in the world. I come to
work each day and get to serve my community, my friends and my neighbors as
Bradley County Mayor. As I have heard it
said, “It doesn’t get any better than this”.
There are also those less
fortunate in our community and our country.
I would like to recognize events like Operation Christmas Presence, St.
Therese Catholic Church’s Three Kings Feast and the William Hall Rodgers Basket
Fund that seek to help those in need.
There are many others and I will not attempt to name all because I am
sure I will forget one.
I think it is wonderful to
reach out to those in need during the holidays.
