Tornado Relief Fund
Bradley County Tornado Relief Fund
I have the privilege of announcing an anonymous $10,000 donation to the Bradley County Commission to assist with tornado relief to Bradley County residents that were directly impacted by the April 27, 2011 tornados. The priority area of funding will be limited the path of the tornados on map provided by the National Weather Service. The donation will be made through the United Way of Bradley County but the donor has requested that the County Commission make decisions on how the funds will be expended. A committee made up of Adam Lowe, 4th District Commissioner, Jeff Yarber, 5th District Commissioner and Robert Rominger, 6th District Commissioner will evaluate and make decision on the expenditure of funds with input from all commissioners and the community. The Committee members and any interested County Commissioners will tour impacted areas beginning tomorrow and interact with residents to determine needs. The Committee will accept applications from residents and meet as many requests as possible through the donation of goods/services. Committee members will assist residents in completing the one page application during the tour and at other scheduled times and locations. The application will also be given to all aid organizations working in the area as well as on the internet. We are thankful to have community minded individuals like this donor that are willing to assist the citizens of Bradley County as we recover from this disaster.
